This year’s West End Live will include performances from new shows including Tim Rice’s From Here to Eternity and the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of The Color Purple.
The free event, which will take place at Trafalgar Square on June 22 and 23, will also feature the casts of Billy Elliot, The Bodyguard, A Chorus Line, Once, Spamalot and The Phantom of the Opera.
West End Live, now in its 9th year, is organised by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre.
London mayor Boris Johnson said: “West End Live brings the roar of the greasepaint to the heart of the capital and all for free. From curtain up, to the encore, London Theatreland is unbeatable and this is a fabulous way to sample some of the most exciting shows to be seen anywhere in the world.”
SOLT chief executive Julian Bird described the event as a chance to “showcase the quality and range of shows the London stage has to offer”.
