Norfolk and Norwich Festival has unveiled highlights of its 2013 programme, which will include the UK premiere of Life and Times by New York-based company Nature Theater of Oklahoma and the return of Our Hunting Feathers by Benjamin Britten.
The Life and Times performance, which includes different sections that can be viewed over separate days or in one sitting, will also include the world premiere of episodes 4.5 and 5, which were commissioned for the festival. The show will run from May 21 to May 25.
Meanwhile the Philharmonia Orchestra will perform Britten’s Our Hunting Feathers with soprano Mary Plazas. David Parry will conduct the piece, which will be staged at the same venue it was originally performed in during the 1936 festival.
Also appearing on the programme is Australian company Circa and nine-strong singing ensemble I Fagiolini, with their show, How Like An Angel.
Originally commissioned for the London 2012 Festival, How Like An Angel will run from May 14 to 17.
Norfolk and Norwich Festival’s artistic director William Galinsky said: “For 2013 we have an outstanding international line up of astonishingly good performers and artists.
“The six shows we are announcing now merely touch on the depth and range of this festival, which I hope will be a true treat for Norfolk audiences, as well as attracting visitors to the county.”
The 2013 Norfolk and Norwich Festival will run from May 10 to 26.
