An adaptation of Benjamin Zephaniah’s novel Refugee Boy by Lemn Sissay will feature as part of the new season at West Yorkshire Playhouse.
It will be directed by Gail McIntyre, with design by Emma Williams and will run from March 9 to 30.
The venue’s new artistic director James Brining has also announced that Nikolai Foster will direct Sherlock Holmes – The Best Kept Secret, which is a new play by Mark Catley.
The show, which has been described as a “theatrical thriller based on the characters of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,” will have design by Michael Taylor and will run from May 18 to June 8, with press night on May 23.
It is a co-production between West Yorkshire Playhouse, Bronia Buchanan, the Booking Office and Wimpole Theatre.
Meanwhile, Dominic Hill will direct Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus in a co-production with Citizens Theatre that features two re-written acts by Colin Teevan.
Design is by Colin Richmond and the show will run from February 23 to March 16, with press night on February 27.
