War Horse co-director Tom Morris is to once again work with Handspring Puppet Company on a new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The South African-based puppet company and Morris will stage the production at Bristol Old Vic, where it will run from February 28 to May 4, 2013, with press night on March 7, 2013.
It will then transfer to US arts events Spoleto Festival USA and International Festival and Ideas.
Directed by Morris, the production will include puppetry design by Handspring’s artistic director Adrian Kohler and design by Vicki Mortimer.
Further national and international dates will follow in 2014.
Morris said: “They [Handspring] are the greatest puppet company in the world and it is a huge thrill to be able to invite them to Bristol to collaborate with us on this experimental version of Shakespeare’s sexiest and most magical comedy.”
