He will take up the role when the production opens at the Playhouse Theatre on November 14.
Anna-Jane Casey will also star in the show, as The Lady in the Lake, while Todd Carty will play Patsy. Carty will stay with the production until November 24.
This version of the musical originally played at the Harold Pinter Theatre earlier this year, running for eight weeks.
It features a book by Eric Idle, who has also composed the score with John Du Prez.
The musical is directed by Christopher Luscombe and is produced by Howard Panter for the Ambassador Theatre Group.
