Joanna Riding is to lead the cast of Hackney Empire’s production of Dick Whittington and his Cat this Christmas.

Riding, who appeared as the Wicked Stepmother in last year’s Cinderella at the venue, will play Dick in the production, which will also star Steve Elias as Sarah the Cook. Elias will also choreograph the show with Sam Francis.

Other cast members include Alexia Khadime, Tony Whittle, Darren Hart and Rina Fatania.

Dick Whittington and his Cat is penned and directed by Susie McKenna and has music by Steven Edis.

The show runs from December 1 until January 6, 2013.
