The hit series is up for most popular drama against the American show, as well as ITV1’s Bad Girls and The Bill.

Christopher Eccleston is in the running for most popular actor for his portrayal of the troubled Time Lord, while sidekick Billie Piper is also up for a gong.

TV host Paul O’Grady will compete for most popular daytime show but this year there is no nomination from Richard and Judy.
