Laura Michelle Kelly EMI deal

Mary Poppins star Laura Michelle Kelly has signed a worldwide exclusive song-writing agreement with EMI Music Publishing UK.

The Olivier Award-winning actress leaves the West End musical this month to begin her recording career with Angel, also part of EMI Music, with an album due to be released in 2006. She is being produced by Marius de Vries, who has worked with David Gray, Madonna, Annie Lennox and Bjork. She will be A&R’d at EMI by managing director Guy Moot and Fran Malyan, director of operations and A&R admin.

Said Moot: “Laura has… real star quality. She has all the natural attributes to make a great record and I am delighted [Angel] is her recording home.”
