Friends star David Schwimmer will be making his West End debut in the world premiere of Some Girls, a new play by Neil LaBute, alongside Troy star Saffron Burrows and award-wining comic actress Catherine Tate at London’s Gielgud Theatre.
In a departure from his Emmy-nominated role as Ross Geller in the television hit series, Schwimmer plays a womaniser in the play directed by David Grindley. Lesley Manville and Sara Powell also star. The show previews from May 12 with press night on May 24.
Schwimmer said: “I feel incredibly lucky. Not only do I have the opportunity to work on a new play by Neil LaBute, but I get to be on the London stage - a dream of mine since the age of 12. And to be knocked about by these four extraordinarily strong, sexy and funny women, that trumps any fantasy I had as a boy. Well, actually, that was a very different fantasy, but just as meaningful…”
