Old Vic transfers Noises Off into the West End

Published Friday 3 February 2012 at 15:08 by Alistair Smith

London’s Old Vic Theatre is to transfer its production of Noises Off into the West End for a limited season this summer.

Michael Frayn’s comedy, in a new production directed by Lindsay Posner, will run at the Novello Theatre from March 24 to June 30 once it has finished its current run at the Waterloo venue.

It will mark the first time the Old Vic Theatre Company has transferred a production to the West End as a sole producer.

Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled with the reaction of audiences to this production of Noises Off. It’s wonderful for the Old Vic to be transferring this production into the West End, giving many more people the chance to see Michael Frayn’s brilliant play, and the fantastic company of actors that have brought it to life. It has always been our ambition to see our productions travel to other theatres so this is great news for the Old Vic.”
