Long-serving Stage theatre critic John Thaxter has died at the age of 84.
Thaxter, who had written reviews and features for The Stage for 20 years, died on Monday January 30, following a long battle with illness.
Having worked as a freelance drama critic since 1979, his first reviews for The Stage were published in the early nineties and his final review was of the West End revival of Journey’s End at the Duke of York’s Theatre in July 2011.
