Published Friday 20 January 2012 at 10:54 by Natalie Woolman

Old Vic New Voices has teamed up with IdeasTap, a funding body and network for emerging talent, in order to take five shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe later this year.

OVNV – the education arm of the Old Vic – will showcase five new plays at the Underbelly venue. Underbelly will provide technical and marketing support to the teams. Applications are now available on the IdeasTap website.

The OVNV 2012 season will also feature a new musical by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm called Epidemic. This “multimedia musical” is about global health and hygiene and will have a cast of 100. Epidemic will be staged in the Old Vic Tunnels later this spring.

The seventh installment of the 24 Hour Plays will be held in October in the Old Vic.
