Complicite has confirmed its English language adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita for the Barbican.

The new show, directed by Simon McBurney, was adapted from Bulgakov’s 1966 Russian novel and an original English language adaptation by Ed Kemp.

Es Devlin, the designer for the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, will design the sets and Blind Summit Theatre will provide puppetry. The show is set to feature a large ensemble cast.

The Master and Margarita opens on March 15 in the Barbican Theatre.
