Ice Age to become latest animated film to hit stage
Ice Age is being turned into a live arena show by Twentieth Century Fox and Stage Entertainment.
Ice Age Live! A Mammoth Adventure will premiere at Wembley Arena in November 2012 before embarking on a five-year global tour. The show, which is based on the characters in the 2002 animated film, will mix ice skating, aerial performance, puppetry and film.
It will be directed by Guy Caron, who is best known for his work on the Cirque du Soleil productions Ka and Dralion. Story, music and lyrics will be created by Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson, while costume design will be headed by Michael Curry.

We are very excited about this project,” said Caspar Gerwe, chief executive of Stage Entertainment Touring Productions.

The film franchise of Ice Age has so far taken more than $4 billion. The fourth installment of the film series is due to be released in July next year.
