Performers lined up to take part include Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow, magicians Penn and Teller, and the cast of Singin’ In The Rain.

The show will be broadcast on ITV, which earlier this year secured the rights to broadcast the event for the next ten years.

Laurie Mansfield, life president of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund, which the event benefits, said: “This is an exciting year as it marks the first year of a new exclusive ten-year deal with ITV and I look forward to working closely together. The greatest artists in entertainment have always featured on the Royal Variety Performance and this year is no exception as the biggest acts in the world unite for one night only.”

The money raised will help maintain Brinsworth House in Twickenham –the entertainers’ retirement and nursing home which is run by the EABF.
