Channel 4 controller of film and drama, Tessa Ross, has been appointed to the National Theatre board.
Ross’ commissions at Channel 4 included Shameless, Teachers and Sex Traffic and she is also a governor at the BFI and an honorary associate of the London Film School.
The other new appointments to the NT board are Ursula Brennan, Permanent Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence, McKinsey and Company partner Dominic Casserley, and Howard Davies, who is currently a professor at the French School of Political Science in Paris and a former chairman of the Financial Services Authority.
John Makinson, chairman of the NT board, commented: “I am delighted to welcome four new directors whose expertise covers a very wide spectrum of activity at a most senior and distinguished level. Individually and collectively, they will make an important contribution to the National Theatre.”
