BBC orders Ronnie Corbett special as part of its Christmas line-up

Ronnie Corbett’s 80th birthday will be marked by the BBC this Christmas with a show starring the comedian.

The One Ronnie is a sketch show that will see Corbett joined by other comedians, including Miranda Hart, James Corden and Rob Brydon.

Other highlights in the BBC’s Christmas line-up include Come Fly With Me, a new show starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams, and Ruth Jones’s Christmas Cracker, which will be broadcast on BBC2 and will see Jones interview celebrities including Ricky Gervais.

The BBC will also broadcast Christmas specials of Strictly Come Dancing, Miranda and Shooting Stars, as well as The Royle Family - Joe’s Crackers.

Drama includes Upstairs Downstairs, Doctor Who and Whistle and I’ll Come To You, an adaptation of MR James’s ghost story.
