Felicity Kendal and Paul Daniels are among the celebrities lined up to take part in the eighth series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Others taking part in the show, which starts on Saturday, are the actors Patsy Kensit, Jimi Mistry, Kara Tointon, Tina O’Brien and Scott Maslen.

The series will begin this weekend with a launch show, during which viewers will get to see the celebrities being paired with their professional dance partner in front of a studio audience.

Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will host the series, with judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli all returning.

BBC controller of entertainment commissioning Mark Linsey said: “It’s fantastic to be bringing Strictly back for its eighth series with even more glamour and excitement than ever before. This year we have a fantastic line-up of celebrities and more spectacular dancing than ever before.”
