Harold Pinter’s Moonlight will receive its first major London revival in the Donmar Warehouse 2011 season.
Moonlight, a tragicomedy about a dysfunctional family, will be directed by former Actors Touring Comedy artistic director Bijan Sheibani. It will run from April 7 to May 28, 2011, with press night on April 12.
The British premiere of Tony-award winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will open at the London venue on February 11. With music and lyrics by William Finn and book by Rachel Sheinkin, the show follows the ups and downs of six teenagers competing to win the spelling championship.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be directed for the Donmar by Jamie Lloyd, whose production of Passion opens at the venue later this month.
The season will conclude with Schiller’s Luise Miller in a new version by Mike Poulton, which will run from June 8. It will be directed by Donmar artistic director Michael Grandage and feature Felicity Jones, who will take the title role.
Michael Grandage’s production of King Lear starring Derek Jacobi and Gina McKee, which opens the season, will tour the UK following its run in London.
