Paterson Joseph presented the Richard Bullwinkle Stage Design Prize at Smexpo, the annual exhibition of work by students on the stage management and technical theatre course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
First year stage management student Stuart Sealey was awarded the prize for his set-design model of Carmen. The award, sponsored for the second year running by Dartington Glass, was also contested by runners-up Clio Nonnis for her A Midsummer Night’s Dream set design and Katherine Arcus’ design for Les Miserables.
Bullwinkle, who was also on the judging panel with Joseph, has been involved in theatre design all his working life and is a tutor in stage management at Lamda. The event took place at the academy’s MacOwan Theatre.
