Flashdance the Musical is to open in the West End this autumn.
With a score including What a Feeling, Maniac and I Love Rock and Roll, the musical is based on the 1983 film starring Jennifer Beals and will open at the Shaftesbury Theatre in September.
Flashdance the Musical will be directed in the West End by Nikolai Foster, who recently directed Hay Fever by Noel Coward at Chichester Festival Theatre, and Arlene Phillips will choreograph the show. Casting to follow shortly.
Previews will open on September 24 and the show is booking until February 26, 2011.
Flashdance the Musical is produced in the West End by Christopher Malcolm, David Ian, the Baruch Viertel Routh Frankel Group and Transamerica.
