OperaUpClose’s production of La Boheme is to transfer from fringe venue the Cock Tavern to Soho Theatre this summer.
The production, directed by Robin Norton-Hale, opened in December last year and is due to play at the Cock Tavern Theatre until May 15. Its five-month run in this venue will make it the longest running continuously performed La Boheme of all time.
La Boheme will be at the Soho Theatre from July 27 to September 4. It will mark the first transfer from the Cock Tavern to another venue.
The production has relocated the action from nineteenth-century Paris to Soho in a modern London.
La Boheme is the inaugural production of OperaUpClose, which was formed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher, the company’s artistic director.
