Being Human’s Lenora Crichlow is to star in Dappers, the new BBC3 drama from Mamma Mia! writer Catherine Johnson.
Crichlow will appear alongside Ty Glaser, whose credits include The IT Crowd, and Tom Ellis, most recently seen in BBC2’s sitcom, Miranda.
Other names in the comedy, which is being made by Mammoth Screen, the company behind ITV’s Lost in Austen, include Darren Boyd, Gwen Taylor and Eddie Large, one half of Little and Large.
The show is a Bristol-based comedy drama about two single mums who live in housing-association flats in Bristol.
Damien Timmer, executive producer for Mammoth Screen, said: “The stellar cast we’ve attracted is a tribute to Catherine’s brilliant script. We hope Dappers puts Bristol on the TV comedy map for some time to come.”
Dappers will broadcast in the spring.
