Rachel Weisz and Jude Law win at Whatsonstage Awards

Rachel Weisz and Jude Law have repeated their successes at this year’s Critics’ Circle Awards, picking up the Best Actress and Best Actor awards at the 2010 Whatsonstage.com Awards.

The awards were announced today at a ceremony at the Prince of Wales Theatre and were voted for by the general public.

Weisz won for her performance in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Donmar Warehouse, while Law was recognised for the Donmar production of Hamlet at the Wyndham’s Theatre. Both were also award winners at the Critics’ Circle Awards earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem at the Royal Court won Best New Play and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert the Musical won Best New Musical.

Other winners included Patrick Stewart, Trevor Nunn and John Barrowman.
