Office of Fair Trading opens ATG’s Live Nation merger debate

Published Tuesday 1 December 2009 at 15:50 by Alistair Smith

The Office of Fair Trading has opened up its consultation with the theatre industry over Ambassador Theatre Group’s recent £90 million purchase of Live Nation’s UK venues, a deal which made it by far Britain’s biggest theatre operator.

Industry figures wishing to comment on the merger and its implications for competition in the UK theatre market have until December 9 to submit their comments. A decision on whether the merger needs to be referred to the Competition Commission is expected by January 27.
