Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music star Julie Andrews is to feature in concert at London’s O2 arena, decades after her last appearance on the UK stage.

The star is to perform both solo and with guest stars in a one-off ‘homecoming’ concert at the O2 on May 8, 2010.

Andrews has very rarely sung live since an operation in 1997 on her vocal chords left her with a severely limited range.

On screen, she has recently worked on The Princess Diaries and the series of Shrek films.
