McGregor and Ergen win International Theatre Institute awards

Choreographer Wayne McGregor and Mehmet Ergen, artistic director of the Arcola Theatre, have this week been presented awards from the International Theatre Institute.

McGregor, who is resident choreographer of the Royal Ballet, has been awarded the ITI award for Excellence in International Dance.

He was presented the prize in recognition as his work as artistic director of Random Dance and for his role at the Royal Ballet.

Meanwhile, Ergen was presented the ITI award for Excellence in International Theatre.

Both were presented by Neville Shulman, director of the British arm of the ITI.

A worldwide network, the ITI aims to promote international exchange of knowledge and practice in theatre arts.
