Philippa Gregory’s book The Little House is to be adapted into a two-part ITV drama.

It is being adapted by Ed Whitmore and will be filmed on location in Bristol and at Pinewood Studios.

The Little House has been commissioned by ITV drama commissioners Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes.

Mackie said: “The Little House is a creepy and compelling tale of the power struggles within one family. Ed’s script brilliantly captures the claustrophobia and tension in Philippa’s novel and constantly plays with your perceptions of the two central women. It’s an atmospheric and chilling drama.”

The Little House will be produced by TXTV, the company that made Torn for ITV in 2007.

Filming will begin in May next year.
