Lee Mead is to star in Oscar Wilde comedy Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, which will embark on a UK tour in January 2010.

Mead will appear alongside Gary Wilmot, who most recently starred in Chicago, and Kate O’Mara, who has appeared in TV hits including Dynasty, Howard’s Way and Bad Girls.

David Ross and Derren Nesbitt complete the cast of the show, which is adapted by Trevor Baxter, directed by Christopher Luscombe, and produced by Bill Kenwright.

Mead shot to fame in 2007 after winning TV talent search Any Dream Will Do, which saw him take the lead role Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The tour will open at the Theatre Royal, Windsor on January 11, where it will play for six days before traveling to nine other locations across the country.
