Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, will open at the West End’s Adelphi Theatre on March 9, 2010, Andrew Lloyd Webber has confirmed.

The show will preview from February 20, 2010. It will feature Ramin Karimloo as The Phantom and Sierra Boggess as Christine. Both have previously played the same roles in the original - Karimloo in the West End and Boggess in Las Vegas. They will be joined by Summer Strallen, who will play Meg Giry. The casting of Raoul and Madame Giry, who both return, has yet to be announced.

Following the London opening, the show will open in New York on November 11, 2010 and in Australia in 2011. Original plans for three simultaneous openings have been dropped.

Love Never Dies will be directed by Jack O’Brien, lyrics are by Glenn Slater, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the book by Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton. Like the original, the show will be a ‘sung-through’ musical.

A cast recording, which was completed last month featuring the performers who will open the show in London, will be released the day after the production’s West End premiere - March 10, 2010.

The original Phantom of the Opera has grossed more than $5 billion worldwide. It has been produced in 149 cities in more than 25 countries since it first opened in the West End in 1986.
