BBC’s Little Dorrit big winner at Emmys
BBC drama Little Dorrit scooped seven trophies at this year’s Emmys, winning more than any other nominated show.
At the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards, which recognise the best programmes shown on US television, Little Dorrit’s screenwriter Andrew Davies picked up the award for Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, while its director, Dearbhla Walsh, took the prize for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries.
The drama itself won Outstanding Miniseries and also picked up awards in the art direction, cinematography, casting and costumes categories.
Elsewhere, actress Shohreh Aghdashloo won an award for supporting actress in a miniseries for House of Saddam, which was originally shown on BBC2.
The Emmys were presented at a ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night.
