Higgins to star in Almeida revival of Mrs Klein

Olivier Award-winner Clare Higgins is to star as Mrs Klein in a revival of Nicholas Wright’s play at the Almeida Theatre this autumn.

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the production marks the first London staging of Wright’s work since its 1988 premiere. It will run at the Almeida from October 22 to December 5, with press night on October 29.

It will be Higgins’ debut at the Almeida. Joining her are Nicola Walker as Paula and Kate Ashfield as Melitta. Designs are by Tim Hatley with lighting by Neil Austin and sound by Ian Dickinson.

The show is the second production in the Almeida’s autumn season and follows Christopher Hampton’s new adaptation of Odon von Horvath’s Judgment Day. The play will be directed by James MacDonald and will run from September 3 to October 17, with press night on September 10. Set designs are by Miriam Buether with costume design is by Moritz Junge, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Chris Shutt and music by Matthew Herbert.
