Live Nation to shortlist buyers

Live Nation is planning to narrow down its list of more than 20 potential buyers for its UK theatres by the end of the month.

As revealed by The Stage last month, the entertainment company has opened bidding on its portfolio of 17 UK venues. Suitors include UK theatre operators such as the Ambassador Theatre Group and Qdos Entertainment, foreign-based companies such as Stage Entertainment and Key Brand Entertainment, as well as private equity firms.

The long list, which is understood to number in excess of 20 interested parties, is expected to be narrowed down to “three or four”, according to a source close to the deal.
