Brighton’s Boast appointed as interim chief exec at Churchill Theatre Bromley

Ambassador Theatre Group has appointed Julien Boast as interim chief executive at the Churchill Theatre Bromley, taking over from Derek Nicholls who is leaving this month to join Qdos Entertainment.

Boast is also the chief executive of ATG venue the Theatre Royal Brighton and will take on responsibility for both theatres, dividing his time between the venues.

Michael Lynas, ATG executive director: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Derek for all he has achieved at the Churchill over the last six years and to welcome Julien to his new position. In Brighton, Julien has made our historic, but unsubsidised, theatre commercially profitable, whilst imaginatively extending its artistic programming.

“There are many parallels to be drawn between the two regions, in terms of our ambitions, programming and audiences, and Julien has the background, creativity and expertise to meet our criteria. His work will continue to thrive in Brighton, but will now also benefit the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.”
