Life on Mars star John Simm is to star alongside Ian Hart and Kerry Fox in the West End premiere of Speaking in Tongues by Australian playwright and screenwriter Andrew Bovell.

The play, which has previously been performed at the Hampstead Theatre in a different production in 2000, was later adapted by Bovell into the 2001 award-winning film Lantana.

Toby Frow will direct the new production, having also previously served as director on Andrew Bovell’s play Ship of Fools at Theatre 503 in 2007.

Speaking in Tongues is produced in the West End by Blue Horizon Productions and Sweet Pea Productions. It will run at the Duke of York’s Theatre from September 18 with press night on September 28.
