Staunton and Peake-Jones to star in download-only audio play

Published Monday 22 June 2009 at 11:22 by Alistair Smith

Imelda Staunton and Tessa Peake-Jones are to star in a new download-only audio drama entitled Goose.

The play, which is written by Helen Kluger, is a two-hander and will be available to download from audible.co.uk from June 24, 2009.

Kluger explained she had written and recorded the play specifically for download.

“I love radio,” she said. “I love writing for radio and the freedom it gives you artistically to roam and explore without constraint. I realised that the internet also has that freedom and is a great place to offer original work that could bring new audiences to drama. I love the idea of audiences being able to download plays, as they would do music, to listen to whenever they like.”

Goose, which is directed by Celia de Wolff, will be downloadable from www.audible.co.uk.
