Johnson to direct Rookery Nook at Menier Chocolate Factory

Published Monday 9 March 2009 at 17:55 by Lalayn Baluch

Terry Johnson is to return to London’s Menier Chocolate Factory to direct a new production of Ben Travers’ farce Rookery Nook.

The show, which tells the story of a newly married playboy called Gerald Popkiss, will preview from April 16 and will run until June 20. Rookery Nook will feature designs by Tim Shortall and lighting by Jason Taylor. Casting is to be announced shortly.

Johnson most recently directed Olivier Award-winning show La Cage aux Folles - a Menier Chocolate Factory production which transferred to the West End’s Playhouse Theatre last year.

His other theatre directing credits include Rain Man, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, and Hitchcock Blonde.
