Nina Bawden’s novel Carrie’s War has been adapted for the stage and will run for a limited season at the West End’s Apollo Theatre later this year.
The show, which has been adapted by Emma Reeves and will be directed by Andrew Loudon, will open on June 24, following previews from June 18. It is booking until September 12 and the run will coincide with the 70th anniversary of the start of Wold War II on September 3.
Reeve's adaptation of Carrie's War was staged previously at the Lilian Baylis Theatre, Sadler's Wells in 2006.
The show tells the story of one girl’s evacuation during World War II. The cast includes Sarah Edwardson, Prunella Scales, James Beddard and Amanda Symonds. Further casting will be announced shortly.
It is produced by Novel Theatre in association with Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer for Nimax Theatres.
