Levene to head Grand Order of Lady Ratlings

Theatre charity the Grand Order of Lady Ratlings has appointed Susannah Levene as Queen Ratling.

The Order is an all-female organisation of theatre professionals that does charitable work through the Cup of Kindness Charity. Princess Anne is Companion Ratling and Barbara Windsor is the president of Cup of Kindness.

The Queen Ratling is voted in by her peers every year to oversee the running of the organisation and its charity work.

Levene is currently the general manager of Yellow Earth Theatre Company and has been involved in theatre for 26 years, first as an actor and then in production and management roles.

The Order was formed in 1929 as a sister organisation to the Grand Order of Water Rats, an all-male charitable group also linked with the theatre.

This year, actor Graham Cole, best known for his long-running role as PC Tony Stamp in The Bill, will hold the title of King Rat.
