SOLT teams up with Ticketmaster to sell advance tickets

Published Wednesday 10 December 2008 at 18:20 by Michael Quinn

The Society of London Theatre’s tkts booth in London’s Leicester Square, which sells half-price theatre seats on the day of performance, is to begin selling advance tickets for a range of arts, entertainment and sports events and attractions.

The full-price ticket service was launched today (December 10) and will also be available at the tkts booth in Brent Cross shopping centre in north London, which opened in June this year.

Launched in 1980 as the Half Price Ticket Booth and renamed tkts in 2001 by SOLT, which operates the service, profits from sales made through the booths are used in a range of audience development initiatives such as Kids Week in the West End.

The new advanced ticket service is the result of a partnership with Ticketmaster UK, and is intended, says Paul James, commercial manager of SOLT, to make the tkt booths “a one-stop shop for all the ticketing needs” of theatregoers and tourists in London.
