BBC1 and BBC2 to be available online

Published Wednesday 19 November 2008 at 16:05 by Charlotte Ellis

BBC1 and BBC2 will be available to watch live online from the end of this month.

From November 27, the channels can be viewed online via their respective sites on bbc.co.uk at the same time as they are broadcast on television. They will also be available to licence fee payers using the internet on portable devices such as mobile phones.

Jana Bennett, director of BBC Vision, said the move completes the BBC’s commitment to making its “portfolio of channels available to watch over the internet”.

The channels join BBC3, BBC4, CBBC, CBeebies and BBC News, which are already simulcast.
