Sunday’s Songs of Praise to focus on songs from the musicals

Paul Nicholas and Tim Rice are to feature in a special edition of Songs of Praise on Sunday, which will have a focus on musical theatre.

Filmed at the Sunderland Empire, the show will feature musical stars Steve Balsamo and Tabitha Webb, alongside Craig Chalmers and Keith Jack, who were featured in BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do.

In the programme, Rice will reflect on the challenges of bringing Jesus Christ Superstar on to the stage. while Chalmers will talk about appearing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Songs of Praise at the Musicals, which starts at 5.15pm on Sunday, features songs from Godspell and The Sound of Music.
