Nick Elliott to advise on RDF Media Group drama production

Published Friday 7 November 2008 at 16:47 by Matthew Hemley

RDF Media Group has hired former ITV controller of drama Nick Elliott to offer advice on storylines, acting talent and writers to all of the company’s drama production houses.

Elliott, who was responsible for commissioning Foyle’s War during his 12 years at ITV, will sit on a group-wide drama board that will be headed by director of family entertainment Nigel Pickard and will also include staff from Touchpaper Television, the RDF-owned company behind Being Human, and IWC Media, which made ITV’s recent adaptation of A Room with a View.

Pickard told Broadcast magazine that Elliott was “one of the legends of the business” and added: “Each of the companies that forms the drama board has a good reputation, but RDF is not the first company you come to for drama - it’s associated with factual and kids. The drama board will allow us to share intelligence about the market and to talk to talent in a different way.”
