Trevor Nunn is to direct Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music at the Menier Chocolate Factory this Christmas.
The production, which will preview from November 22, will mark his directorial debut for the London venue.
The musical is based on Ingmar Bergman’s 1955 film Smiles of a Summer Night, and follows the story of four couples on a midsummer weekend in turn-of-the-century Sweden.
The show won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, when it premiered on Broadway in 1973. It features music and lyrics by Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler.
Full casting for the production will be announced shortly.
The Menier Chocolate Factory is introducing reserved seating for the first time for this production.
