One-off Me and My Girl fundraising show to be created in 48 hours

Published Friday 22 August 2008 at 13:40 by Rebecca Herbert

The London Palladium is to host a special charity staging of Me and My Girl, which will be created in just 48 hours.

The one-night-only event on October 26 is to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust and will have a cast of 120.

Judi Dench will introduce the show in a short video.

The organisation behind the event - Showtime Challenge - has previously created similar versions of Into the Woods, hosted by Mel Smith, and Sweet Charity at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, hosted by Gail Porter.

Participants who have taken part have ranged from nursing, education and catering workers to established performers.
