Total Theatre announces Edinburgh Festival Fringe awards shortlist

National development agency for contemporary arts Total Theatre has announced the shortlist for its 2008 awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The list of 26 finalists includes The Caravan and Architecting, which have already won The Scotsman’s Fringe First Award, and Stage Must See show How It Ended.

Awards are given in five categories, but a sixth may also be presented at the discretion of the judges, to an artist, company or venue which has made a significant contribution to either the festival or the development of theatre. Winners will be announced at Edinburgh bar GHQ on August 21.
