Departure Lounge and On the Island of Aars lead musical theatre awards

Departure Lounge, a new musical about ‘Brits on tour’ delayed in a Spanish airport, and On the Island of Aars, a show set on a desolate Scottish rock, have dominated the nominations for this year’s Musical Theatre Matters: UK Awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The productions, which played at the Musical Theatre @ George Square and Pleasance Courtyard respectively, have both been nominated in all five categories of awards. Winners of the MTM: UK Awards will be announced on August 22.
