Patricia Hodge, Lynda Bellingham and Sian Phillips are to star in the stage adaptation of Calendar Girls, which is set to transfer to the West End after its national tour and run at the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Tim Firth has written the new stage play which is adapted from his own 2003 film. It is to be directed by Hamish McColl and will be produced by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.

The cast will include Bellingham, recently seen in TV romantic comedy Love Soup, as well as Olivier Award-winner Hodge. Phillips, who has played Mrs Driver in the television series The Borrowers and The Return of the Borrowers, is also set to appear in the show. Alongside them will be Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills, Elaine C Smith, Joan Blackham, Abby Francis, Gary Lilburn, Gerard McDermot and Carl Prekopp.

Producers have confirmed that, following its national tour which ends December 13, the show will be coming to the West End. Details will be announced shortly.

Calendar Girls opens on September 16 at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
