South African production Itsoseng has become the first show at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe to officially announce a London transfer.

The play, which is produced in Edinburgh by Richard Jordan Productions and the Pleasance in association with South Africa’s Baxter Theatre Centre, will play at the Soho Theatre in London from September 8 to 27.

Itsoseng is billed as “a scathing indictment of government indifference, cynicism and incompetence in a forgotten South African township”. It is written and performed by Omphile Molusi and directed by Tina Johnson.

Molusi was the first recipient of the Brett Goldin Bursary Award which is given by the Royal Shakespeare Company and offers a young South African actor the opportunity to travel to Stratford-upon-Avon and train with the RSC.
