Strouse and Stritch face spotlight on stage with Paige

Annie composer Charles Strouse and actress Elaine Stritch are to feature in the second run of Spotlight On, a series where personalities from the world of theatre and entertainment discuss their career on stage with Elaine Paige.

Stritch will talk to Paige on August 7, while Strouse - who celebrates his 80th birthday this year - will appear on September 23.

All events take place at the Shaw Theatre, where Stritch will also perform her one-woman show At Liberty next month.

Other acts in the second series of Spotlight On include US singer Michael Feinstein, who will talk to Paige on September 18, and Ben Vereen, who has appeared in Broadway shows Wicked and Fosse and television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy.

Vereen will appear at the Shaw Theatre on October 1, when regular Stage contributor Mark Shenton will replace Paige as interviewer.

Future guests lined up to appear as part of the Spotlight On series, which started in April with a programme that featured lyricist Don Black, include playwright Willy Russell and composer Michel Legrand, whose show Marguerite is playing in the West End.

All shows are produced by Neil Marcus.
